Dr. Ravi Rathod
Dr. Ravi Rathod is a healthcare policy and government-affairs specialist, currently a Senior General Manager for Policy & Strategic Affairs in the medical-devices industry. He serves in national policy roles including Advisor – Health at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Technical Officer & Joint Coordinator for Government Affairs & Policy at the Association of Indian Medical Devices Industry (AiMeD), and Technical Committee Member for Imaging Equipment at the Bureau of Indian Standards. He is a member of working groups under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and sits on industry advisory boards including SGT University and the International Patients’ Union.
His policy work has produced concrete outcomes for the MedTech sector: he helped catalyse the September 2025 GST reduction (12% to 5%) across cath labs, catheters, balloons, and critical components; contributed to the ban on imports of refurbished medical equipment; and worked on customs-duty reductions for X-ray tubes and flat-panel detectors. During the COVID-19 period he helped mobilize a network of 750 India-origin specialist doctors with ourNHSourConcern (UK) and helped launch an ICU telemedicine centre with the Delhi Government and Ujala Cygnus Hospitals.
