ACPMA Basic is for healthcare professionals at the early stages of a Medical Affairs career. This includes clinical and science graduates such as MD, PharmD, PhD, MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS, and MDS who want a strategic route into the industry, as well as MSLs in their first few years who want to move from field work to Medical Affairs strategy. The challenges differ by background; the need for strategic clarity is the same.

Ten modules spanning the full breadth of Medical Affairs, from why the function exists to evidence generation, medical communication, HCP engagement, pharmacovigilance, launch strategy, market access, compliance, and career pathway. Indian context runs through all ten modules, not just one.

ACPMA Basic runs over 10 weeks. Modules 1 and 10 are held in person, with participants making their own travel arrangements; all other modules are online. Sessions are live and workshop-led, with case studies, project tasks, and guided self-directed learning between modules.

Each participant gets a printed Companion per module, with orientation, worksheets, and the full framework playbooks. The programme also includes team tasks, an in-person capstone presentation, and Expert Dialogues with senior Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Compliance leaders. After the programme, you receive three one-to-one career coaching sessions across seven cross-functional domains, with your choice of mentor and domain.

ACPMA Basic is designed and led by Dr. Rahul Rathod, who serves as Key Program Director and brings 25+ years across pharma leadership and strategy in Medical Affairs. Alongside the core teaching, participants engage in a series of Expert Dialogues with five to six senior leaders drawn from cross-functional domains, including Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Market Access, and Compliance.

Assessment is applied, not exam-based. It is built on module team tasks and reflection, plus a final in-person capstone presentation. On completion, you receive a Certificate of Participation titled “ACPMA Basic,” listing the modules covered, issued by GPDA and Gabriel & Co.

ACPMA Basic is a private professional development programme. The Certificate of Participation is issued by GPDA and Gabriel & Co on completion of the programme criteria. It is not a university degree or diploma and is not accredited by any government or regulatory body. Enrolment does not guarantee any offer of employment or placement.
